What is an APMC Licence?
APMC stands for Agricultural Produce Market Committee. It is a body set up under the agricultural marketing law of each state to run and control the mandis (wholesale agricultural markets). In some states, it is called the Mandi Samiti, Krishi Utpadan Mandi Samiti or Agricultural Marketing Board.
An APMC Licence is a permission from this Market Committee that allows you to buy, sell, store or trade agricultural produce, such as grains, pulses, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables and other farm products, in the market area. It is also called a Mandi Licence.

- The applicant should have no serious criminal case or past cancellation of a licence
- The applicant should have a place of business in the market area, such as a shop, platform or godown
- The applicant should have GST registration and PAN
- The applicant may have to give a security deposit or bank guarantee
- The applicant should follow the trade rules of the Market Committee

- PAN and Aadhaar of the owner, partner or director
- Passport size photographs
- Address proof of the applicant
- Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership Deed or LLP Agreement
- GST registration certificate
- Proof of the shop, platform or godown (allotment letter, rent agreement or ownership paper)
- NOC from the owner of the property, if rented
- Bank account details and cancelled cheque
- Security deposit or bank guarantee proof
- Affidavit or declaration of no criminal case
- Character certificate or police verification, where required
- Trade Licence from the local body, where required
- FSSAI licence or registration, for edible produce, where required
- Weights and measures verification certificate
- Previous licence copy, for renewal
