GST Notices & Litigation

Home GST Notices & Litigation

What Are GST Notices and GST Litigation?

A GST notice is a formal letter or electronic message from the GST department, asking you to explain, correct or pay something related to your GST registration, returns, credit, refund or goods in transit. GST litigation is the legal process that follows if the matter is not settled at the notice stage. It includes hearings before the tax officer, appeals before the Appellate Authority and the GST Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), and, if needed, the High Court.

A notice is not a final order. It gives you a chance to reply and present your side. But if you ignore it, the officer can pass an order against you, raise a demand for tax, interest and penalty, recover the money from your bank account, or cancel your registration.

CA Arpit Gupta helps businesses to understand the notice, collect the proof, draft a proper reply, attend hearings and file appeals within the time limit.
